Make these gorgeous little woollen hearts and use them as festive decorations on the Christmas tree, around the house or as small appreciative gifts for loved ones throughout the year.

The hearts are knitted in 100% wool, stuffed, sewn together and felted in the washing machine to give them their comforting round and cute shape.

approx 5×5 cm (2×2 inches)

NEEDLES & NOTIONS 

Knitting needles size 4 mm (US size 6), Tapestry needle to seam and batting to stuff the hearts. Batting from an old pillow is excellent. String to hang up the ornament.

GAUGE 

Approx. 22 sts = 10 / 4 inches before felting in stockinette holding two strands of yarn together. Gauge is not critical as the heart is to be felted.

YARN 

50 g Peruvian 100% wool (100 m per. 50 g) from Filcolana or 50 g Peer Gynt 100% wool (91 m per 50 g) from Sandnes Garn o or Supersoft 100% pure new wool (50% merino and 50% Shetland wool) 287m per 50g from Holst garn. The hearts are made using one strand of Peruvian or Peer Gynt, or two strands of yarn held together and approx. 4 grams of yarn is used per heart.
