Rosehip Shawl Pattern

Rosehip is a delightfully soft, drapey slightly asymmetrical triangular shawl of a generous size and is easy to style and wear.
Slipped stitches are the main feature giving the Rosehip Shawl its simple and beautiful textured colour work impressions. In addition a simple textured pattern of small purl bumps gives the solid coloured stockinette sections interest and movement.

Length approx. 190 cm / 75“ (blocked) 

Depth: approx. 58 cm / 23” (blocked) 

NEEDLES & NOTIONS 

4.5 mm / US 7 / UK 7 circular needle at least 80cm / 32”. 

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge. 

GAUGE 

21 sts and 36 rows = 10 / 4” in stockinette with single stranded yarn worked flat, washed, blocked, and laid flat. 

YARN 

3 skeins of Merino linen, 90% Australian super wash merino, 10% linen (360m / 394 yards per 100g) from Rose Hip Island, www.rosehipisland.com 

Colours used in sample:
Colour 1 (C1): White Opal, 100g
Colour 2 (C2): Aubergine, 55g
Colour 3 (C3): Hot Mustard, 80g 

Or if substituting yarn: 780 m / 853 yards fingering weight yarn with similar yardage and gauge in three colours divided as follows:
C1: 360m / 394 yards
C2: 200 m / 220 yards.
C3:290 m / 317 yards
